Between chance and choice

"Between chance and choice" is an exhibition about life as a game—about the unpredictable events that befall us and the decisions through which we give them direction. Using symbols such as chess, dice, playing cards, roulette, dominoes, labyrinths, and puzzles, each artwork tells a story of risk, strategy, intuition, and personal responsibility. Sometimes we win thanks to the right move; at other times, it is down to pure chance. Yet, the most important moments often unfold in the space between the two: in that fleeting instant when we must decide whether to wait, take a risk, give up, or press on. For while we do not choose every card life deals us, we always choose how to play it.
